A future for my daughters on this priceless coast
This week, my family became complete with the birth of my second daughter, Evelyn Rose. This magical event came amidst pipeline leaks and city evacuations in neighbouring Alberta as it experienced the “flood of the century” (for the second time in a century). As an inter-disciplinarian and with lots of unplugged time to think, I cannot separate events like this. What I mean by this is that the future of (for) my daughters is absolutely linked to the health of the lands, waters and atmosphere of the future.
While I of course do not have the time to write anything new in detail, I do want to share something my colleague, friend and fellow father, William Housty, and I wrote in 2011. Its entirely relevant and posted here (from the Qqs blog): http://blog.qqsprojects.org/2011/children-of-this-priceless-coast/
