Fri Mar 27 – Research talk by Robert Long in Geography Speaker Series

Our research group is very excited to host Dr. Robert Long to speak in this Friday’s departmental speaker series. He will be providing an overview of the Cascades Carnivore Connectivity Project, which assesses habitat and corridor connectivity in the the Cascade range in Washington, one of the most contiguous blocks of land in the United States. The region provides habitat for many large carnivores and mesopredators, yet is fragmented by a number of highways. Drawing on the collaboration of researchers, volunteers, and many project partners,  the Project is developing connectivity analyses for carnivores in the region. We are excited to learn more about the success of this highly collaborative and interdisciplinary project, and see how our own coastal carnivore monitoring efforts might be similarly used for habitat conservation.
